BIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINET – STERIL – MOD. DISPENSING

TYPE OF MACHINE: Cabin with vertical laminar flow and microbiological safety (biohazard) mainly used for cytostatics. The safety cabinets are defined as Class II as they are equipped with a partial front opening for work that allows for the aspiration of 30% of the air and a recirculation system for the remaining 70% which is sent to the work area in laminar flow.

FEATURES: The vertical laminar flow cabinets are designed to ensure the protection of products, the operator, and the surrounding environment. They are also mostly suitable for the preparation and handling of: cytotoxic drugs, antineoplastic chemotherapeutics, CMR drugs, and any other agent that may cause genetic alterations or synergistic activity with other materials. The air that is aspirated from the front passes under the work surface and alongside the side walls of the internal chamber without entering the work area thanks to the vertical laminar flow that simultaneously descends throughout the internal chamber, and which joins under the work surface. The air aspirated by the main fan is directed into a plenum where about 70% is sent back into the work area through absolute filtration while the remaining 30% is expelled outside with the aid of a second fan, after a second absolute filtration (air recirculation system). Furthermore, the amount of air expelled is replenished with an equal amount of ambient air drawn in through the front opening, generating a "front barrier" of isolation to protect the operator. The vertical laminar airflow and the exhaust flow are filtered by filters.
